An ear mite is a small insect that lives on the wax which is normally produced in the ear. The ear mite may try to live permanently in a patient where an ear allergy problem persists. The excess production of ear wax that is produced along with an allergic reaction ear problem may attract ear mites to a specific animal, and is very contagious. Oftentimes, many people own several pets at one time, yet only one pet may have ear mites and for some reason the other pets do not get the ear mites despite the fact that ear mites are highly contagious. Why might this be? At that point, the pet that is suffering from the ear mites needs to be evaluated to see if it may have, Atypical Cortisol Estrogen Imbalance Syndrome (ACEIS) also referred to as, "Plechner's Syndrome" by the public. Please see, "Animal Protocol" for evaluation recommendations for your pet(s).
