Good health in this day and age comes from a balance of active cortisol and active estrogen and their effect on not only the pituitary, thyroid glands but also on the immune system.

If there is a change in this ratio between active cortisol and active estrogen, then serious diseases may follow.

It is a misnomer to say, since this ratio change has occurred; now the immune system is deficient. This is really wrong. The immune cells are now DEREGULATED. Both the B and T cells have not only lost their protective function for the body due to the cortisol- estrogen imbalance, but now have lost recognition of the bodies own tissue. These cells may now react to self tissue. The disease is referred to as AUTO-IMMUNITY.

All cancer patients, whether animal or human, have this ratio imbalance between active cortisol and active estrogen. The only true immune-deficiency comes from the B cell reducing its production of antibody. When the antibody level in people and animals drops below 60 mg %, then malabsorption occurs with oral supplements. This is often why a patient in the hospital does well on intravenous and intra muscular medications because they bypass the gut. When the patient is sent home on the same oral medication, the patients does not do well. Often they may be told that we will prescribe a different medication.

What is the point, if you cannot absorb ALL medical patients, whether people or animals need an IgA test done with the other routine blood tests? This may be a reason why nutraceuticals, holistic and homeopathic supplements have not worked. Ask your healthcare specialist for you and your pet to consider this.

The fact that you or your animal are told that your impirical values are normal, does not mean those values are active. These hormone levels need to relate to the proper management of the immune cells and system.

The world needs to realize that the endocrine system regulates the immune system.

Now if we look at our environment, you may be able to understand those toxins and contaminants can alter the active cortisol and active estrogen ratio and allow for a deregulation and antibody deficiency of the immune system and either allow some unhappy diseases to occur or can actually allow the immune system to attack the body itself by being deregulated.

If you consider this ratio, than you can understand how your environment can hurt this important ratio.

What will affect the level of active cortisol? Obviously stress will burn up active cortisol and various toxins and heavy metals can damage the middle layer of the adrenal cortex, where cortisol is produced. Accidents, aging, anesthetics and any invasive procedure or bodily insult can lower your active cortisol and change the ratio causing major disease. Do you realize that you and your animal must produce 30 to 35 units daily of active cortisol for everyone to maintain good health?

What about the active estrogen within this ratio? In menstruating females, part of their active estrogen comes from the ovaries and part comes from the inner layer adrenal cortex.

To distinguish between the two, the human female would have a total estrogen done on the 7th day of her cycle, and on the 26th day of her cycle or when her healthcare professional feels her estrogen production is the least and then the most from the ovaries. The difference is adrenal estrogen however there are other ingested forms of estrogen that may offset the ratio.

My website has an article on foods that contain natural estrogens. Depending on your ratio, foods containing estrogen may either help you or hurt you or make no difference. These are often referred to as phyto-estrogens. Plastics may contain xeno-estrogens. What about birth control pills plus estrogenic compounds used in menopause? Check the ratio. Determine if these extra sources of estrogen are really necessary, and if they are, check your IgA to see if you can even absorb them.
