An ESTROGEN PROMINENCE relates to a human or animal that is at the high end of producing and ingesting TOTAL ESTROGEN.

An ESTROGEN DOMINANCE relates to a human or animal that has superseded the high normal range of TOTAL ESTROGEN.

Either of these two conditions may lead an animal or a human into Atypical Cortisol Estrogen Imbalance Syndrome (ACEIS) or as the public refers to it as PLECHNER'S SYNDROME, and this is why IT IS SO VERY IMPORTANT TO MEASURE TOTAL ESTROGEN BEFORE ANY HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL PRESCRIBES ANY FORM OF ESTROGEN REPLACEMENT THERAPY.

Measuring TOTAL ESTROGEN in an animal is fairly easy if you find a Veterinary Lab that is measuring TOTAL ESTROGEN. When measured in male animals, there is no ovarian estrogen as there is not in spayed females since the ovaries are removed in the spaying process. Those female animals that are not spayed only produce ovarian estrogen once to twice a year normally. By way of a vaginal smear, it is easy to know when not to test for TOTAL ESTROGEN.

In human males, there isn't any ovarian estrogen and only ADRENAL ESTROGEN, or estrogen from other exogenous forms occurring in foods, plastics, and municipal water. IN HUMAN FEMALES, IN ORDER TO DISTINGUISH BEWEEN OVARIAN ESTROGEN FROM ADRENAL ESTROGEN, THERE WILL NEED TO BE TWO BLOOD SAMPLES TAKEN, AND THEN A COMPARISON MADE BETWEEN THE TWO SAMPLES. THE FIRST SAMPLE IS USUALLY TAKEN ON THE SEVENTH DAY OF THE MENSTRUAL CYCLE WHEN THE OVARIAN ESTROGEN IS AT ITS LOWEST, AND THEN TAKEN AGAIN TOWARDS THE END OF THE CYCLE WHEN THE OVARIAN ESTROGEN IS AT ITS HIGHEST. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO IS THE ADRENAL ESTROGEN. YOUR HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL CAN HELP YOU DECIDE ON THE PROPER TIMING TO TAKE THESE SAMPLES BASED ON YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE. Again, ingestion of foods, water, and liquids that have come out of plastics must also be considered as estrogen sources. Animal foods tend to have less estrogen in them, unless they contain soy products or any products containing DDT. Water sources are also a concern.

A SLOWDOWN IN OVARIAN ESTROGEN MAY NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE SINCE WOMEN IN THEIR VARIOUS PHASES OF THEIR MENSTRUAL CYCLES WILL ALSO INCLUDE ADRENAL ESTROGEN. THE OVARIAN AND THE ADRENAL ESTROGENS NEED TO BE SEPARATED. The ranges of these combined estrogens can be huge. What then is normal for one patient may not be normal for another. PLECHNER'S SYNDROME MAY HELP IN THIS RESPECT BECAUSE THE SYNDROME MEASURES THE REGULATION OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM AND IF THE ANTIBODY PRODUCTION IS LOW, THIS MEANS THAT THE PATIENT HAS TOO MUCH ESTROGEN, AND THAT AN ESTROGEN SUPPLEMENT MAY CAUSE NOT ONLY FURTHER ESTROGEN DOMINANCE BUT MAY ALSO LEAD TO A CATASTROPHIC DISEASE.
